I love my coffee just as well as the next person – well, maybe even more. One of my favorite moments of the day is having my first sip of coffee at dawn, while the birds are singing and the world is waking up. I have tasted a lot of coffee in my day, but nothing beats a cup of freshly ground and brewed coffee from fresh-roasted beans – especially if they are from one of Virginia’s local roasters.
“Coffee – the favorite drink of the civilized world.”
— Thomas Jefferson
I put together a list of local roasters that I know of in Virginia where you can order online or directly in the store. I make it a point to support these businesses, as they are all focused on sustainable growing practices AND provide superior products. Check them out:

This makes me wish I were a coffee drinker!
Here’s another one–my husband and I just started Cabin Creek Roasters in Edinburg. Our website, http://www.cabincreekroasters.com, will be up soon (we hope!), but you can find our coffee at the Farmhouse in Woodstock, Cave Ridge Winery in Mt. Jackson, and Wolf Gap Winery in Edinburg. Coming soon to All Things Virginia in Harrisonburg.
Lucas Roasting Company coffee is available for sale at Fran Romeo & Company, Edinburg, Virginia and at Christina’s Cafe, Strasburg, Virginia.
